The Dolgoch Falls is a series of 3 waterfalls near Tywyn, Gwynedd, Mid Wales. The falls are part of the Nant Dol-gôch stream, which flows into the Afon Fathew. It’s a popular walk from the nearby Dolgoch station on the Talyllyn Railway. There are many waterfalls in Wales but Dolgoch are some of the most popular.

There is a good amount of parking for the waterfalls however you should expect a small parking charge. Alternatively you can go the scenic way by catching the historic Talyllyn steam train. The train brings you right into the falls and has a short path from the station to the falls.

There are a number of caves to see, they used to form part of the now disused Dolgoch Quarry. Although the quarry had favourable transportation arrangements compared to many quarries in the area, it was never worked on a significant scale.

Today the beautiful waterfalls remain for all to visit and enjoy. You should expect to climb throughout the falls in order to reach the top. There are handy signs to guide you through the waterfalls and let you know which of the 3 main waterfalls you are looking at. Once at the top of the falls there is a picnic area, so make sure you take a drink and a snack with you.

The trail should take you about 90 mins to complete but you can easily be there a lot longer. We found so much to explore with all the different trails. After visiting once you will be keen to go back again and again. Above all it will be interesting to see the waterfalls throughout the different seasons.
